The club wishes to thank Awards for All after receiving a grant of just over £4300
The award which was granted in May 2003 has allowed us to improve our equipment re-health and safety for all participants in terms of a safe and secure environment for our sport.
Freeing up club funds has enabled our coaches to attend a variety of courses which will be of benefit to the club, namely first aid and child protection, as the funds grow we intend to send more coaches to other courses.
Pete Kilcourse has also attended the "coaching for the disabled" course offered by Medway Council, this was advantageous to the club as Pete recently took part in the "Martial Arts Festival For The Disabled", where he received numerous enquires about disabled people attending the club, Pete welcomes this so we will continue to develop opportunities for children /adults with special needs to participate in Judo.
Taking part in a physical activity such as Judo improves confidence, co-ordination, physical well being, and sense of achievement.
As a club we are constantly working to develop and extend our activities within the sport of Judo in the Medway area, we offer and encourage participation for all irrespective of their disability.
